Insecure Facade

her insecurities run deep

filling nearly every pore

always questioning herself

and the actions of others

she writes in secret

as tears run down her face

trying to figure herself out

while putting on a brave face

she reads and reads

hoping to escape from her mind

if only for a little while

her dogs are her mental security

her mother is her safe landing

her brother always representing home

her insecurities run deep

but never as hidden as she wishes

always wondering what is to come

who will see through her façade

she tried to shield others

from dealing with her pain

shielding them from her worries

and many many insecurities
